« Downhome »…That expression is in itself the main characteristic of the frame of mind of this blues band named after it : Play with passion and enthusiasm a music so close to one's roots : traditionnal (in its right meaning, avoiding falling into the uncreative traps of nostalgy), far from musical mainstreams, definitely passing and soulless.This project, filled with honesty and modesty, gathers musicians who are willing to enjoy themselves playing a music that's simple and pure which wouldn't deny its creators, and focused on emotion and spontaneity, thus far from the 'show business', devoured by men who are more attracted by money and fame than by proper artistic creation...
Downhome's music isn't perfect, but it's human, and it is already a lot...Whatever means to an end insn't Downhome's motto, and thus its members compose and record using techniques used by their predecessors, deemed as outdated by some, but prefered to modern processes such as 'cut/paste', and other computer enhancements. These processes, performed in studios all over the world, which have more to do with factory work than with proper art, undoubtely fit to other musical styles, not to Blues. Thus, Downhome members refuse to sell their soul to the devil and won't accept any compromise. We aim at -with our music- creating emotion, that is the only very ambition of the band.
